Ohio Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship Accelerator
By 2030, the U.S. is projected to face a 2.1 million job gap in manufacturing and technical fields. To tackle this challenge head-on, the Hub teamed up with Ohio employers, educators, and community leaders for an Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship Accelerator, where they had crucial conversations on the power of Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship programs in shaping our future workforce.
Senate HELP Committee Opening Remarks: Youth Apprenticeship’s Transformative Opportunities
Noel Ginsburg, Founder and CEO of CareerWise, left his business 40 years ago and now champions Youth and Registered Apprenticeship as transformative for labor and economic prosperity in the U.S. In this Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) hearing introduction, he suggests that students split time between businesses and classrooms, believing industry involvement in education could greatly benefit workforce development and society. CareerWise is the nation’s leader in launching Youth and Registered Apprenticeship programs to support enterprise employers’ talent acquisition and development needs.
Promise Career Institute: Interview with Tarrie Traylor
Sheldon Strickland, Hub Digital Media Specialist, had an engaging conversation with Tarrie Traylor, Promise Career Institute’s Workforce Development Coordinator. Ms. Taylor shared about the upcoming launch of the PCI, scheduled to open its doors in June 2024. Together, they explored the Institute’s mission to equip students with essential skills and Apprenticeship training for successful careers.
Idaho Business for Education: Interview with Paula Kellerer
Janet Bray, Hub TA Lead, sat down with Paula Kellerer, Vice President of Youth Apprenticeships at Idaho Business for Education (IBE), to discuss the organization’s efforts in creating pathways for student growth and Youth and Registered Apprenticeship opportunities. Through collaboration with over 250 businesses, IBE supports students in transitioning from high school to the workforce.

Automate Conference 2024
When: May 6-9, 2024
Where: Chicago, IL
Hub Project Manager James Price and Senior Advisor Cathy Metcalf will attend the conference to network with auto industry employers, expanding RA partnerships and create Youth Apprenticeships. They will also meet with educational institutions serving Youth Apprentices, employers, and manufacturers. Automate 2024 is set to be the largest conference in its history.
In-Demand Jobs & Youth Apprenticeship Career Fair
When: May 10, 2024
Where: Cincinnati, OH
Hub consultant Brandy Porter will participate in the upcoming Ohio career fair. Brandy will meet with employers, students, and parents to discuss the benefits of Youth Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship programs and the support and funding available for RA programs in Ohio.
Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship Accelerator

Hub Senior Advisor Cathy Metcalf will participate in a subject matter expert panel at the Accelerator, which will be hosted by Ivy Tech Community College in coordination with the U.S. Department of Labor, Manhattan Strategy Group, Indiana Department of Workforce Development, and many other RA stakeholders.
